At Action Physical Therapy, you’ll benefit from our ten years of experience in orthopedics, treating patients post-surgery, and those with joint pain issues.
In addition to our traditional physical therapy services, our facility includes 2,000 square feet of gym space. In that space, we have access to multiple machine weights, elliptical machines, treadmills, recumbent bikes, squat rack, and other functional fitness machines to provide the best all-around care.
Whatever is causing your pain, we offer one-on-one services from the same physical therapist throughout your care. Most patients are provided with home exercise programs to enhance and improve their physical therapy results.

About Action Physical Therapy
After working in other area physical therapy clinics for over the last decade, Action Physical Therapy founder Ryan Cook saw a need for quality physical therapy services in some of Kansas’s smaller communities.
He opened his first Action Physical Therapy location in Halstead in 2020 to serve Halstead, Burrton, Bentley, Sedgwick, Hesston, and more.
Our goal is to get you back into sports, back from surgery, or just back into action with less pain sooner.
Meet Ryan Cook, DPT
Born and raised in Hutchinson, KS, it was while he was on a job shadow for Hutchinson Community College that he decided to pursue Physical Therapy as a career.
He went on to earn his BA in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees from Wichita State, graduating in 2011. After graduation, he worked for a Wichita-based therapy clinic for the next eight years but knew that he would one day open his own practice.
He officially opened Action PT on May 1, 2020 in Halstead.
Ryan is married to Staci, also a physical therapist, and has 3 kids – Marisa, Weston, and Ellie. He and his family reside in Maize. He enjoys coaching his kids and watching their sporting events. Ryan and Staci also love deer hunting, golfing, jeep rides, and boating.

Your First Appointment
At your first appointment, we’ll do an insurance benefits check to ensure you’re covered and review your Welcome paperwork. We’ll also do a thorough examination with an evaluation, then provide you with an individualized treatment plan. We’ll even set you up with a home exercise program and text reminders for your appointments to make your treatment easy.
